Men in MBLAQ

I reached the venue shortly after 11am, when a lot of people had already arrived on the scene. Surprisingly I still managed to acquire most of the freebies that were on offer. I found Dina pretty easily from the crowd as well, totally by chance, and stuck to her side since that moment. When she went onto queue for the official goods, I went to grab a bite for I had not eaten a single thing the whole day. Only after that did I go to queue with her and saying the queue was long wouldn’t even begin to explain just how long it was. Already from our point onwards we had to wait nearly an eternity to get to the goods so I don’t even want to know how long it took of those behind us. Of course, we switched lines at some point because ours just wasn’t moving (by that point a lot of the good stuff had already sold out) but we managed to get light sticks so all was good (I hope this one doesn’t mysteriously start glowing in the dark and refuse to turn off like my previous MBLAQ light stick did).

After this it was time to start queuing for the actual concert and, you can probably already guess, it took a while to get us all in line. I had Japanese people in front and back of me and they had some trouble sticking to their own spots, obviously. Dina was about fifty people ahead of me but once I got into the concert hall, she was the first person I bumped into. We were in the fourth row of our section and so the view was supposed to be good. Except I had a fanboy’s head blocking my view a good portion of the time. Now, the actual concert was still good enough that I didn’t really mind it even if I didn’t see things perfectly all the time (it slightly did bother me but I’m used to it already that I never see anything even if I’m wearing the highest heels I’ve ever worn).

Then the concert finally started and, I found it a bit funny that the fangirls were actually jumping a little over how excited they were. The boys started amazingly with Rollin’ U with this cool choreography, wearing white clothes with colour changing lights attached to them. After that they dressed down a little for Y which already got me ecstatic for it’s one of my favourites of theirs. During this, Joon also ripped his shirt already. After (one more song/that) they slowed things down a notch for  which was amazing to hear live. Especially Mir and Cheondung looked as if they were trying to hold back their tears.

I’m already blacking out on what happened next but they had loads of fireworks and pyro stuff going on from very early point of the concert and I was loving it. You see, I am a huge fan of stuff like that and you hardly ever get any of it in Finnish concerts. So thank you MBLAQ for completely satisfying my need for it.

All of their solo stages were amazing, without a doubt. They started with G.O. singing his ballad, having the crowd getting emotional with him. After this we got Thunder wearing a dreadful outfit rocking it out to an unreleased song of his which was something I would totally rock out every bit of myself out to in a club. It had a totally amazing beat and he owned the stage. Mir’s stage was probably what got the crowd going the most out of all of these though. Me included (it only even more proved we could totally be bffs /delusional). He was standing behind a DJ booth shooting out some beats and then rapping inbetween. The crowd was so excited at this point. Seungho then decided to show us what he’s got by first playing us a beautiful song on piano and then bursting into a popping dance. He was honestly so perfect that if there wasn’t something extremely special about Mir, he’d be my favourite. Last one to take the stage was Joon with that sexy dance with girls (you knew it’d be him, didn’t you?). As in he had several girls on stage he rubbed his body against with and it really was pretty hot. Then he got some male dancers joining him on the outer stage for some pole hump—err dancing.

I think it was during Stay that I hit a fellow fan with the light stick. Whoops. But that was also the song that got me pretty emotional since it was the one I saw them perform live for the first time, after all. My favourite section, however, was when they came back on stage during the audience and sang to Bang Bang Bang with a live band. That was… I have no words for it just how happy I got for them playing this song. And the fact that a lot of the songs were also done with a live band definitely raises my respect for them. After that came Oh Yeah during which, instead of stripping himself, Joon tried to undress Seungho. Then they sang Mona Lisa which naturally got huge cheers from the crowd and as their last song of the actual set they played a slightly slower version of You’re My+ which was the other moment where I nearly got overwhelmingly emotional. Held up my I’m your+ -banner with pride.

They started the encore with 그대여 which was another great song to hear live, one of my favourites of theirs. The very last song of the concert was a remix of Oh Yeah (the only song by MBLAQ on my iTunes that has been unlisted so that I wouldn’t have to listen to it because I hate it –remix, to be precise) and as big as my hatred for that remix is, as much I was jamming to it because when played live it works. For this they brought out some water guns and I don’t know what Mir did with his but Joon splashed water on his face. Some girl(s) behind us got a bit of a fit and suddenly there was a huge amount of people pushing us toward the center of the stage (I think they got excited of Joon and just couldn’t take it anymore? After all everyone around us seemed to be either fans of Mir or Joon), I got stuck on some girl’s bag and while I was trying to get myself off, Joon splashed water on my face… Sadly, the concert was soon quite soon after that and it was time to head back home.
